American Water Resources Mailer
Often companies try and get their business known by sending advertisements in the mail. Recently, a company called AWR, (American Water Resources), sent out letters to New Port Richey residents advising that most homeowners are not aware they are responsible for water leaks and repairs. The City maintains and repairs our water mains along the right of ways within our utility service area and as most utility customers know they are responsible for any leak or repair needed on their property from the meter to their home. In many instances the homeowner can make their own repair or with a service call to a plumber. This company requests you pay a fee to “protect” your water lines. In the past, the City has received numerous phone calls and concerns from homeowners who were lead to believe they would be in financial distress if a water leak were to occur and they chose not to opt-in. The City of New Port Richey is not an affiliate or partner with American Water Resources. We do not endorse nor recommend the use of this company.
