Firefighter Requirements

To become a New Port Richey firefighter (full time or part time), an applicant must be a Florida State certified firefighter. View the State Fire Marshal’s Office Bureau of Fire Standards and Training requirements to become a certified firefighter.

Please Note: Preference is given to firefighter/paramedics.

Application & Accompanying Information:

Completed applications may be mailed to the City of New Port Richey Human Resources Department, 5919 Main St. New Port Richey, FL 34652.

Applicants must complete the Employment-Application-Fillable.pdf(PDF, 583KB)  and include copies of the following items:

  • Certificate of Compliance
  • EMT and/or Paramedic License
  • CPR and/or ACLS Cards
  • EVOC Training
  • NIMS Certifications
  • Current Driver License
  • Application Process

  • Physical Agility Test
  • Interview
