Volunteer Corps Application forms can be obtained from the Human Resources Department and various City Departments, and on the City webpage. The potential volunteer must also complete and be cleared through a criminal background check.

Volunteer eligibility is typically for individuals age 16 or older. Volunteers under the age of 18 will be required to have a City release form signed by their parents and notarized. Minors between the ages of 14 and 16 may be eligible to volunteeer for some City programs, and certain requirements and/or restrictions will be placed on these assignments.

Each potential volunteer will have an interview with the department in which he/she is considering volunteering. In addition to the interview, the department may conduct reference checks.

The City does not accept court-ordered community service as part of the Community Volunteer Corps.
