There’s no better way to celebrate Arbor Day than with a tree planting! The celebration takes place on January 17, 2025 --- ARBOR DAY! Come join us at Frances Avenue Park for the celebration of Arbor Day.

WHAT: Arbor Day Celebration

WHEN: Friday, January 17, 2025, 2pm - 3pm

WHERE: Frances Avenue Park 5580 Frances Ave., New Port Richey, FL 34653

“With deforestation increasing globally, reforestation in urban areas is of critical importance,” noted Dell deChant, Chair of the City’s Environmental Committee.  “Since 1989, New Port Richey has been dedicated to reforestation throughout the city, not only enhancing the quality of life for residents but also proactively responding to the climate crisis.”

The celebration will include a brief program featuring the Arbor Day Proclamation, a presentation on the cultural context of urban forests, and a special performance by students from Genesis School.

This event is a partnership of the City of New Port Richey, the City’s Environmental Committee, New Port Richey FarmNet, and Genesis School.

Florida has celebrated Arbor Day on the third Friday in January since 1886 and New Port Richey has done so since 1989.  To learn how you can become more involved in sustainability projects in New Port Richey, including our “Adopt-A-Tree” Program visit the www.cityofnewportrichey.org
