Responsibilities

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of city vehicles, city machinery, Police cruisers, and emergency fire apparatus.

Vehicle Fleet

The vehicle fleet is comprised of several diverse types of vehicles, including:

• 4 Class A Fire Trucks
• 4 Support Trucks
• 53 Police Vehicles
• 7 Heavy Duty 1.5 ton or higher trucks
• 4 SUVs
• 2 Vans
• 31 1/2-1 ton pick up trucks
• 20 1 1/4 – 1 1/5 ton trucks
• 2 24,000 lb loaders
• 2 11,5000 lb loaders

In addition to these vehicles, there are over one dozen utility trailers, several of which have electric generators or hydraulic components mounted on them.
