Planner

Under general supervision, a Planner for the City of New Port Richey is responsible for a variety of tasks associated with professional level planning work that includes conducting independent studies, completing planning projects, and regulating the growth and development of the City in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan and other statutes, ordinances, and regulations related to land use and community development. The Planner position requires analytical thinking and problem-solving, team-oriented participation, excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, and the ability to provide detailed public presentations.  This is a highly visible public contact position that requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to gain closure on issues. This position will consistently deal with customers and utilize the City’s computerized applications. Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, public policy, or related field of study and three years of local government planning experience preferred. Master’s degree a plus.
