Waste Collection / Recycling Information
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centers
The old hazardous waste Amnesty Days events Pasco County used to hold twice a year in different towns, are now replaced with two permanent facilities open to the pubic on a weekly basis, plus on Saturdays. The two facilities are equipped to accept just about any hazardous waste generated at home and are located on:
  • Handcart Road off of County Road 759A
  • Hays Road off of Sate Road 52

Household hazardous waste includes pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, solvents, polishers, and gasoline. The only items not accepted from households are biomedical wastes, explosives, or radioactive wastes, which you are not likely to have at home anyway. The county has a separate program for handling biomedical waste. Please call (727) 847-8041 for more information.

Waste Oil Collection SiteVehicle oil change
The city's Fleet Division has worked in conjunction with Pasco County agencies for many years to keep hazardous waste oil out of our environment by creating a public Waste Oil Collection Site. Each year the city has been able to collect and properly dispose of approximately 2,000 gallons of oil waste. "Do-it-yourselfers" are encouraged to bring your oil in to us!

The Waste Oil Collection Site is open during the regular Public Works Department's business hours, Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.

For more information on the centers' operation hours and example of what is accepted, please call (727) 847-8041 or visit one of the centers.

January 2015, Pasco County closed three of its County-owned recycling drop-off sites due to illegal dumping. The County paid to have two locations fenced, gated, locked and manned. The Pine Hill Road and Bayonet Point locations will remain closed. The closest recycling drop off to New Port Richey is at Pasco County's Embassy Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 9518 Crabtree Lane, Port Richey, FL 34668. Hours are 8AM-5PM Wednesday-Saturday.

To stay up to date with Recycling Drop-Off Sites, please contact County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Seney at (727) 856-4539 or
